NEET UG 2022 - Exam Pattern Changes


The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) will be held on July 17, 2022. NEET held for admission to the undergraduate medical entrance programmes including BSc Nursing and Veterinary will be conducted as an offline test at designated centres across the country and a few centres abroad. NEET 2022 question paper will comprise of 200 questions and will be held for a duration of 200 minutes.

As per the NEET 2022 UG exam pattern, the medical entrance test will comprise of four subjects -- Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology. Each subject will consist of two sections. While Section A will consist of 35 questions, section B will have only 15 questions. Out of the 15 questions from Section B, candidates can choose to attempt any 10 questions.

Exam Pattern 

NEET Exam is conducted in an offline mode (pen-paper mode) every year by National Testing Agency. Students can take a look at the revised exam pattern before going to the syllabus. Here you will get an idea about the revised exam pattern of NEET 2022.

  1. As per the new exam pattern, there will be 2 sections in each subject consisting of 35 questions in Section A and 15 questions in Section B (out of which choose to attempt any 10 questions).
  2. There will be 200 Multiple Choice Questions in total (out of which 20 are optional). Each correct question carries 4 marks.
  3. NEET (UG) – 2022 is a Pen & Paper-based Test, to be answered on the specially designed machine gradable OMR sheet using Ball Point Pen
  4. There will be a negative marking of minus one (-1) mark for each incorrect answer.
  5. The total duration of the NEET 2022 Exam is 3 hours 20 minutes (200 minutes)
