This year, JEE Main Session 1 exam will be held on June 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29, 2022. The admit card for the same is expected to be released in the second week of June 2022.

ATTEMPT STRATEGY

The first and the foremost step to score well in the JEE main is to have an exam attempting strategy. The student should attempt multiple mock tests before the actual exam and develop a strategy in which he/she is able to score the maximum. To answer what are the various strategies we can say, attempting the subject in which you have the maximum command at first go could be one strategy. Picking and attempting easy questions from all three subjects on the first go could be another strategy. Key here is you don’t waste your time if a question is not familiar to you, just skip such questions.

Hence, trying out various strategies/ combinations of strategies in mock exams will help a student decide which one is the best suited for him/her.

TAKE ONLINE MOCK TESTS & SOLVE PREVIOUS YEAR PAPERS

Taking online mocks before the actual exam date helps you in time management, which is very important for JEE Main. Because you will have a limited time in the examination paper and have to answer the questions in the given time. Always rate yourself after appearing for a mock test or solving the paper.Solve a maximum number of questions from the previous years’ question papers of JEE Main/Advanced.

COURSE REVISION

Another tip would be in the direction of course revision. We all know that JEE as an exam is very conceptual. There are certain sections which are very important from the point of view of revision. Looking at individual topics for mathematics, we would say quadratic equations, application of derivatives, parabola, complex numbers, and P&C could be some important topics for last-minute revision.

For physics, we would say heat & thermodynamics, waves, rotational mechanics, modern physics & optics can be considered important. As for chemistry is concerned, almost every topic is equally important. Experts say that in recent years there has been an uptick in questions coming from topics like environmental chemistry, chemistry in everyday life, and metallurgy.

These are the topics on which students focus less and lose marks. Another important thing is a revision of inorganic chemistry. Inorganic chemistry specifically because that is one and probably the only part that requires mugging up things. The course in inorganic chemistry is so vast that it is almost impossible to learn everything. Hence, a student should have a note copy ready with all important things that he/she can revise a couple of days before the exam.

STRESS REDUCTION

Lastly, we would like to focus on the importance of stress reduction. Mental stress is a very big game-changer in competitive exams. Having a stress-reduction plan in a place is very important.

The student should do yoga or play some sport for at least half an hour a day to refresh their mind and body. Following a healthy diet is also very important. Keeping yourself detached from the result and solely focusing on working hard is the key to acing JEE.
